Born in Ekurhuleni, Manqoba “Thee Gobbs” Sishi had a lot of interest in the music industry that he studied Sound Engineering. He holds a Sound Engineering qualification, at the time he was already spinning the discs for a year. Gobbs is not only a Dj but a qualified sound engineer and has been involved in several projects with South African Artists, he has recently just finished mixing JR’s second album which has done well and has seen JR being nominated at this year’s SAMAs. He was involved in helping Lebo M with mixing songs for Coca Cola’s compilation. He has also worked at Jazzworx as a Sound Engineer working on various Projects. When Dj Gobbs is not Playing in clubs or in Studio he is on Tour with JR as his resident Dj. Gobbs takes you on a Musical ride through Deep Soulful House which is influenced by South African Culture and Sounds from music of the 80’s to current Musicians and Trends. Gobbs is inspired mostly by Jazz Music and you will find it that most of the music he plays is very musical and jazzy. Over the past years Gobbs has managed to build up a database through the type of music he plays and has really hyped up his audience to an extent that they have asked if he will be releasing an album in the future. Gobbs says “The wait is over” and he believes that there is no better time but now to release this debut album.
